        On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971.  The photographer is in the pay and correspondence office between 32¾ and 35½ stations on the port side of 3 deck looking forward and slightly to starboard from 35 station showing two desks with filing drawers under and cupboards above.  A telephone, an Olivetti 82 typewriter and papers are on the desks.  A Thermotank air conditioning unit is against the side of the ship.  An automatic emergency lantern is next to the door in the starboard bulkhead.
