        On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971.  The photographer is in the senior rates' mess between 16 and 21½ stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking to port and slightly forward from 20 station showing three cupboards against the aft bulkhead.  A clock reading 9.33, an automatic emergency lantern and an electric fire are next to the door.  A triple tier bunk unit and a settee bench are on the right.
