On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the operations room between 31¼ and 35½ stations on 1 deck looking aft and to starboard from the centreline at 33 station showing the chart table on the right. A telephone and three gyro compass circuits junction boxes are against the starboard fly bulwark. A Decitron UPN 12 loran indicator and amplifier unit is against the aft bulwark and a safe is under it.
