[The English engage the Spanish Fleet near Plymouth on 31 July 1588]

Uncoloured engraving. Scale: circa 1:250,000 (bar). Ungraduated chart of the track of the Spanish Armada. The bar scale is in English miles. The chart contains the coats of arms of Queen Elizabeth and Lord Howard. The prevailing wind direction is indicated next to the compass rose. This was originally produced as one of twelve sheets which comprised Adams' 'Expeditionis Hispanorum in Angliam vera descriptio anno domini MDLXXXVIII'. It has a sheet number, 3, in the lower right corner. There is a complete, handcoloured set in the Caird Library collection, at PBD8529.
