        On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966.  The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay.  The photographer is in the wheelhouse between 27½ and 29 stations on the port side of 1 deck looking to port and slightly forward showing the wheel and a revolution order transmitter in the foreground.  An electric fire, a telephone, an engine telegraph junction box and a control box for the engine order system, manufactured by Evershed & Vignoles Ltd of London, are against the port bulkhead.  A vertical format negative.
