        On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966.  The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay.  The photographer is in the laundry between 66½ and 71 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking aft and to starboard showing an ironing bench with issue racks under and an electric iron on top, a clock reading 2.20 and a ventilation fan unit against the starboard side of the ship.  Against the aft bulkhead are more issue racks, an emergency first aid cabinet, a door switch relay unit and a calendar of Lake Geneva.  The calendar is at the page for March 1969 and the dates 1, 2, 3 and 4 have been crossed through.  A vertical format negative.
