On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south wall of No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard, Kent. In the senior rates mess between 61½ and 67 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck.
        
        On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966.  The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay.  The photographer is in the senior rates mess between 61½ and 67 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking forward on the port side showing a settee bench with drawers under and a loudspeaker at high level against the port bulkhead.  Six easy chairs and a thermotank air conditioning unit are on the right and a coffee table with four ash trays is in the centre.  A letter rack and two full height lockers are by the door to the mess in the port forward corner.
