On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the pump metadyne compartment and torpedo anti submarine store between 15½ and 19 stations on the starboard side of 4 deck looking forward showing shelf racks against the ship's side. A box of detonators is on the shelves. The type 177 pump metadyne, a starter panel, notice boards and a bed spring frame are against the port bulkhead. A Drysdale circulating water pump is against the forward bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
