        On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966.  The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay.  The photographer is in the communications control room annexe between 31 and 32½ stations on the port side of 2 deck looking to port and forward showing  eight CUJ connection boxes and an automatic emergency lantern against the ship's side. A work station is against the forward bulkhead and it includes a CU9 MCO6 unit, a telephone and a composite communication units case.  A vertical format negative.
