        On board the Type 12 general purpose frigate Plymouth (1959) alongside the south side of number 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard at the end of a modernization which commenced in August 1966.  The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay.  The photographer is the gyro compass room between 34 and 35½ stations on the centreline of 3 deck looking to port showing the master compass in the foreground. Two amplifier racks are against the aft bulkhead.  A retransmission unit, a C.R.U. terminal panel, a motor generator, two spark suppression units and an alternator regulator are against the port bulkhead.  A master transmission unit and a change over switch are against the forward bulkhead.  A vertical format negative.
