The photographer is in the directing gear compartment for hull outfit 15 (asdic type 170) between 16 and 27 stations on 4 deck looking forward and to starboard showing the asdic type 170 dome lowering and hoisting framework. A fresh water circulating pump is on the right and against the starboard side is the near vertical steel ladder leading up to 3 deck. Against the forward bulkhead are detonator lockers.
