        On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Tartar (1960) in Portsmouth Dockyard between November 1973 and April 1974 during a refit.  The photographer is in the auxiliary machinery compartment between 41 and 45 stations on 4 deck looking aft from 43½ station on the port side showing air conditioning plant control panels on the centreline with toolboxes on the deck below them and a cupboard next to them. A fresh water pump, two starter panels, a fuse panel, an automatic emergency lantern and a fire hose basket are against the aft bulkhead.  The stairs up to 3 deck are in the centre with fire extinguisher No. 17 close to them.  A vertical format negative.
