Port bow view of a small naval warship

Medium includes graphite. The previous description suggested the vessel shown is a naval packet or sloop, but with 12 guns on the broadside (i.e. 24 at least) it is too big for either and is probably a small frigate, which the elaborate figurehead also tends to suggest. The ship to the right is probably the same one but showing better the studding-sail extended from the starboard fore-course yard as it runs before the wind in very light airs. [PvdM110/19]
