HMJS Yamato; Battleship

Scale 1/1250. A waterline model of the HMJS Yamato. It is realistically painted and depicts the vessel in her 1944-45 configuration, reflecting the significant increase in anti-aircraft weaponry following the removal of the abeam triple 6.1-in mountings. It is made from a metal alloy which has been cast in a mould and is hollow on the underside of the hull. There are maker’s marks and insignia and the model number, the name or warship class, either cast in, scratched in or written on a paper label on the underside of the hull.
