A general view of Senglea from the Marina at Valetta.

A paper calotype negative. A view south-east across Grand Harbour from the marina at Valetta towards Senglea. The entrance to Dockyard Creek is on the left, with the city of Cospicua in the distance. The Gardjola Gardens at Senglea with the Guard Tower ('Il-gardjola') prominent on the bastion is in sunlight. Saint Phillip's Church dominates the skyline of Senglea.

The reverse of the negative has been titled at the bottom: '[number cropped] General view of Senglea: from the Marina.' This title matches item 10 in the list that Calvert Jones sent to WHF Talbot in a letter dated 8 July 1846. The negative was part of the large calotype negatives he created in the second series at Malta. [BL, LA46-80].
