One of the caribou in a wooden house at Pauline Cove, Herschel Island
A slightly unfocused view through the door of one of the wooden houses at Pauline Cove, Herschel Island. Inside, looking at the camera is a caribou.
On 26 July 1996 the Kapitan Dranitsyn (1975) anchored off Pauline Cove near the abandoned whaling settlement on Herschel Island. Ivy Sharp wrote in her account 'Whilst there we saw a couple of caribou and I went close enough to photograph one which had entered a hut.'
