An aerial view of the settlement at Holman, Victoria Island, looking towards Queen's Bay with King's Bay behind. The settlement is spread out along the bay and the spit separating Queen's Bay and King's Bay. The photograph was taken from the helicopter on the return trip to the ice breaker Kapitan Dranitsyn (1980).
On 28 July they were taken to Holman on Victoria Island by helicopter to see local Inuit art and learn about traditional hunting and fishing. Ivy Sharp was not taken with the place, recording: 'Needless to say the visit to Holman Island left much to be desired and thru three hours spent there was far too long for me. Fortunately we enjoyed beautiful sunshine so the flight back was very pleasant despite the strong, cold wind.'
