A view across the pack ice to towards the land in the distance, possibly Somerset Island or Devon Island

A view across the pack ice towards high cliffs and an island in the distance, taken from on board the ice breaker Kapitan Dranitsyn (1980). By 1 August the ship was steaming up Peel Sound into Barrow Strait with the intention of visiting Cunningham Inlet on the north coast of Somerset Island, although they eventually went straight to Beechey Island, near Devon Island. PM11792/15 is a less distant view.
