Rusty tins scattered along the foreshore on Beechey Island, Barrow Strait.

Rusty tins scattered along the foreshore on Beechey Island, Barrow Strait, below a steep scree slope on the right. In the distance are the monuments to the 1845 Northwest Passage Expedition and Lieutenant Bellot of the French Navy who died on 18 August 1853.

Ivy sharp commented: 'The terrain is all broken stones like shale and only the occasional flower visible, but more [no?] moss, and like so much of the arctic it is a barren landscape.'
