The pack ice with part of Print Leopold Island on the right, taken from the Zodiac.
Open water with the pack ice in the distance and on shore of Prince Leopold Island taken from the Zodiac as it ferried passengers to the island. The cliffs of the island are on the right of the image. A small blemish is in the middle of the picture.
Ivy Sharp wrote for 3 August: "It is 7.30am and we are off Prince Leopold Island by zodiac - right through the ice. In brilliant sunshine and freezing temperatures the iceflows (sic) are most impressive, nor do the birds show any fear."
