A piece of pack ice stacked onto another floe, taken from the Zodiac.
An ice berg attached to a piece of ice floe with another piece stacked on top, taken from the Zodiac as it ferried passengers to the island. The waters around the berg and floe are clear of any pack ice.
Ivy Sharp wrote for 3 August: "It is 7.30am and we are off Prince Leopold Island by zodiac - right through the ice. In brilliant sunshine and freezing temperatures the iceflows (sic) are most impressive, nor do the birds show any fear."
