The sheer cliffs of Prince Leopold Island with a Zodiac underway, taken from the following Zodiac.
A view of the sheer cliff face of Prince Leopold Island taken from one of the Zodiaz Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) ferrying passengers to the island. In the middle is the lead Zodiac with passengers on board. The foot of the cliff is skirted by ice attached to the land and there are small pieces of ice floating in the mostly open water. This is the last photograph Ivy Sharp takes for this visit 'Unfortunately, my film ran out so I could only record half the trip'.
Ivy Sharp wrote for 3 August: "It is 7.30am and we are off Prince Leopold Island by zodiac - right through the ice. In brilliant sunshine and freezing temperatures the iceflows (sic) are most impressive, nor do the birds show any fear."
