On board the Royal Navy type 81 general purpose frigate Ashanti (1959) under way on the Thames heading upstream from Gravesend to the Pool of London. The photographer is standing just forward and to starboard of the mast looking aft and down showing the single 40mm bofors gun, the motor whaler in its davits and Royal Marines on the aft compass platform. The ship is in Blackwall Reach. Negatives numbers PM7461/12A to PM7464/35A inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
