On board the light cruiser Tiger (1945) in the North Atlantic off north-west Scotland during the NATO exercise Flat Rock. The photographer is below decks, possibly in a workshop but the precise location is unknown. An officer and a petty officer, both wearing overalls, are in the compartment. The Tiger (1945) was the flagship of Vice-Admiral F R Twiss who commanded a fleet of 46 ships drawn from six NATO nations for the exercise which took place in the waters off Cape Wrath and Loch Ewe.
