On board the United States Navy aircraft carrier Saratoga (1955) while anchored in the Mediterranean. The photographer is on the top of the island superstructure to starboard of the funnel looking forward and slightly to port showing the side of the open and enclosed bridges. The Douglas A-3B Skywarrior 138941 of VAH 9 is next to the starboard deck edge lift and Douglas A-4C Skyhawks of either VA 34 or VA 36 are on the port side of the forward flight deck.
