On board the Royal Navy riverine gunboat Skull (1963) (former LCA) during a patrol near Kuching, Sarawak. The gunboat is crewed by men from Naval Party Kilo and one of the crew is about to board a local boat which is close alongside. He is wearing beach shorts, a khaki shirt, sandals and a jungle hat. The boat is carrying rolls of wire mesh and passengers. This was during the Indonesian confrontation which ran from 20 January 1963 to 11 August 1966.
