A riverbank scene from on board the Royal Navy riverine gunboat Skull (1963) near Kuching, Sarawak. Three local skulling or rowing boats, known locally as perahu, are on the river. The riverbank is frequently muddy and fringed with thick mangrove swamps. This was during the Indonesian confrontation which ran from 20 January 1963 to 11 August 1966.
