On the flight deck on board the Netherlands Navy aircraft carrier Karel Doorman (1943) under way in the North Sea off the southern Norwegian coast during the NATO exercise Pilot Light. The photographer is in the starboard side of the flight deck abreast of the island looking aft and to port showing four Grumman S2A Tracker aircraft tied down with their wings folded. Their engine cowlings and cockpit canopies have canvas covers. Three of the aircraft are coded 151/D, 159/D and 165/D.
