'Emptying a pond Kowloon, 6 February 1901'

A general view of Chinese men working in the foreground emptying a 'pond' of water using a wooden trunked pump at Kowloon. To the right is the stern of a large Chinese junk with a man watching the work over the transom. A large number of small and larger vessels are moored, crowded together off the port side of the junk.

The original negative envelope was labelled: 'Emptying a pond Kowloon, 6.2.01'.
