On board the sail training brig Royalist (1971) under sail during a training cruise off the Isle of Wight in the last quarter of 1973. The photographer is on deck aft looking across at four people on deck. Two of them are looking forward and up and one of them is taking a photograph of the proceedings. The other two people are looking across to the Royal Navy guided missile destroyer Norfolk (1967) which is either passing or is being passed. Only the MRS 3 gunnery director, foremast, fore funnel and mainmast of the destroyer are in the picture.
