On board the Royal Naval Reserve coastal minesweeper Mersey (1957) during the NATO exercise Northern Merger in the North Sea off the Danish coast. It is close to sunset and the photographer is on the starboard side of the sweep deck looking aft showing some of the crew relaxing but the ship is in Condition Zulu and some of the men are wearing anti-flash gear. Oropesa floats are stowed in the foreground.
