A group of 45 Royal Marine Commando in a small snow covered wood during the NATO exercise Atlas Express in northern Norway, which lasted from 18 February to 20 March 1976. They are all on skis and the nearest man is carrying a large radio backpack. A Westland Sea King HAS.1 helicopter of 814 Naval air Squadron from the command carrier Hermes (1953) is hovering in the background with an underslung tracked Snowcat tractor.
