On board the Royal Navy aircraft carrier Eagle (1946) on passage west in the Mediterranean. The photographer is in the gallery on the port side of the flight deck near the mirror landing sight looking forward and slightly to starboard showing an 849D Flight Fairey Gannet AEW.3 aircraft climbing ahead of the ship after being launched from the port forward catapult. In the starboard forward deck park are De Havilland Sea Vixen FAW.2 aircraft and another Fairey Gannet AEW.3 aircraft.
