The photographer is in the gallery on the port side of the flight deck near the mirror landing sight looking to starboard showing the Fairey Gannet COD.4 aircraft XG790 on deck releasing the arrestor wire after landing on. The aircraft is painted black and is the personal taxi of the Flag Officer Aircraft Carriers (FOAC). The Eagle's island superstructure is in the background and her pendant number is R05. The De Havilland Sea Vixen FAW.2 aircraft XP954 coded 494/E is parked next to the island.
