The photographer is on the flight deck close to the aft end of the island looking forward showing the 849D Flight Fairey Gannet AEW.3 aircraft XL493, coded 437/E, with its wings folded being towed by a four wheeled tractor next to the island. Another Gannet, a Supermarine Scimitar F.1 of 800B Squadron and De Havilland Sea Vixen FAW.1 aircraft of 899 Squadron are in the forward deck park. The Eagle's pendant number is R05.
