The Royal Navy's Mediterranean Fleet at moorings in Alexandria harbour, Egypt, during the Abyssinian crisis. They are dressed overall. In the foreground is the harbour boom attended by a boom defence trawler. The Royal Fleet Auxiliary oiler Plumleaf (1916) is the ship nearest the camera in the centre and beyond her amongst the other ships are two Queen Elizabeth class battleships. On the left are two London class heavy cruisers of the 1st Cruiser Squadron.
