The photographer is on board an unidentified passenger cruise liner which is berthed stern-on to the quay looking aft and to starboard showing railway wagons on the quay. Wording on buildings at the back of the quay read "L'Eschenauer & Co, Frederic Lung Successors, Royal Kebir - Imperial Kebir." On a two storey building on the upper roadway is Casino Municipal.
