One of the boats has a transom stern, the others are double-ended. Four of the boys are in the water to retrieve objects, mainly coins, thrown by passengers on the cruise liners. The photographer is on board a cruise liner looking down and towards the waterfront showing railway wagons on the quay. Wording on buildings at the back of the quay read "L'Eschenauer & Co, Frederic Lung Successors, Royal Kebir - Imperial Kebir." On a two storey building on the upper roadway is Casino Munisipal.
