The stern of the Royal Navy battleship Queen Elizabeth (1913) by a quay in the north harbour at Algiers.

Looking west-north-west from inside the north harbour at Algiers showing the stern of the Royal Navy battleship berthed close to the Compagnie Generale Transatlantique terminal quay. Her Royal Marines are paraded on the quarterdeck under an awning. The aft end of a three masted passenger/cargo ship is on the right and a Charles Schiaffino & Co passenger/cargo ship is alongside the terminal quay. Motor cars are parked at the end of the quay and building works are taking place on the adjacent quay on the left. Four and five storey buildings front the upper roadway including the Royal Hotel, the Hotel Oasis, the Brasserie Universelle, Tabacs and the Credit Lyonnais. The premises of Vidal, Manegat & Cie and Charles Schiaffino & Co are on the waterfront.
