Four figures carrying a body wrapped in a red ensign
This is not a funeral party unless a very informal one, the four bearers being informally dressed and carrying the body on a stretcher at shoulder height, loosely wrapped in a red ensign. This suggests it may be a casualty being brought ashore by seamen from a merchant ship.
