The old harbour at Candia (Heraklion), Crete. The photographer is outside the harbour looking inward through the entrance showing the Rocca a Mare (Koules) Venetian fortress on the right. Lighters are alongside the wooden jetty next to the fortress. Two steamers, a 3 masted barque and some smaller sailing vessels are berthed in the harbour. A small boat is being sailed and rowed in the harbour.
