The passenger cruise ship Franconia (1923) is alongside C Berth on the South Arm and a Union-Castle passenger mail ship, either the Arundel Castle (1921) or the Windsor Castle (1922), is alongside A Berth in the South Basin. The Municipal Pier, which was demolished late in 1939, can still be seen just outside the Random Mole.
