In the background from left to right are the Cunard passenger cruise ship Franconia (1923) painted white overall, a passenger/cargo liner, a French motor passenger liner of the Felix Roussel type (1931-1933), the Royal Navy heavy cruiser Norfolk (1928), two British India Line passenger/cargo liners and a Japanese Osaka Shosen K.K. cargo liner.
