A head portrait photograph of a young chief from the Solomon Islands. His body and head are turned slightly to the left (viewers right) but his eyes are looking at the camera. He has an ornate comb in the front of his hair, slid in from the righthand side, a semi-circle of white bone[?] in the top of his right ear, as well as a metal cartridge in the lobe. He has a long nose pin through the septum of the nose.
