The harbour, the Riva and the eastern side of Hvar, Croatia. The photographer is looking south-east from high ground showing St. Mark's Church in the foreground with the Arsenal building to the left of it. A number of boats are berthed alongside the Riva on which a line of pineapple palms can be seen. The Setalista put Kriza is a continuation southwards of the Riva and beyond it is the tower of the Church of Our Lady of Grace adjoining the Franciscan Monastery.
