Locally built single masted wooden boats alongside a canal at Batavia, Java, Indonesia. Their masts have been unshipped and stowed on crutches. Rattan shelters have been rigged are washing is draped over the stowed masts. Two men are looking at the cameraman, one is sitting under a rattan shelter and the other is leaning on a mast.
