The Canal Levassor in the town of Fort-de-France, Martinique. The photographer is looking north-by-east along the canal from a footbridge across the canal near the harbour mouth. Small boats are on the canal and drawn up on the shore and there are commercial premises on each side of the canal. A building on the west bank has the name Tonnellereo Administration on it. The domed archway above the west bank is the Fontaine Gueydon monument.
