Two passenger cruise ships anchored off the town of Fort-de-France, Martinique. The photographer is on shore looking seawards showing a single masted boat and a rowing boat drawn up on shore. A 2-masted schooner is anchored offshore working cargo with a rowing boat alongside. In the left background and seen from off her port bow is the Swedish cruise ship Kungsholm (1928). On the right and seen from ahead of her port beam is the German Norddeutscher Lloyd ship Columbus (1922), shown after her 1929 conversion to steam turbine power.
