On board the Swedish passenger cruise ship Gripsholm (1925) in the Pedro Miguel Locks on the Panama Canal. The photographer is on the port side of the upper promenade deck looking aft and to port showing two passengers standing the ship's rail ahead of numbers 16 and 16A lifeboats as the ship heads south through the west lock heading into Miraflores Lake. A vertical format negative which is incorrectly captioned Miraflores Locks.
