A fully laden cargo ship in Gatun Locks on the Panama Canal.
An unidentified, fully laden, cargo ship in Gatun Locks on the Panama Canal. The photographer is looking north from the top of the slope abreast the upper chambers of the locks showing Mule No. 657 in the foreground. The cargo ship, seen from off her starboard quarter, is carrying a substantial deck cargo of sawn timber and she is in the east centre chamber. She has a black-topped funnel with a marking of a letter, possibly V or W, on a light circle with a darker ring round it.
